[Message 1]  출애굽기 - 하나님 나라의 모형

하나님 나라는 성경의 처음과 끝을 관통하는 하나의 주제입니다. 하나님 나라는 하나님의 통치하심이 이루어지는 우리의 삶의 모든 영역을 포함합니다. 하나님이 세상을 창조하셨을 때, 그 안에는 하나님 나라의 온전한 원리가 있었지만, 우리는 우리의 죄로 말미암아 그 원리가 우리의 삶의 현장에서 온전히 작동하는 것을 더 이상 볼 수 없게 되었습니다. 하지만 하나님께서는 요한계시록 말씀을 통해 하나님께서 어떻게 그 원리들을 회복시키실 것임을 그림처럼 보여주십니다. 또한, 그때까지 하나님께서는 우리도 그 하나님 나라의 원리대로 이 땅에서 살아갈 것을 우리에게 바라고 계십니다.

하지만, 우리는 하나님 나라의 원리를 이 땅에서 온전히 이해하고 이를 따라 살기에는 근본적인 한계를 갖고 있습니다. 그래서 하나님께서는 이스라엘에게 주신 율법을 통해, 그리고 예수 그리스도의 삶과 말씀을 통해 그 하나님 나라의 모형을 우리에게 보여주셨습니다.

출애굽기를 통해 출애굽과 광야의 시간을 거쳐갔던 이스라엘 사람들, 또한 이 과정을 이끌었던 모세의 모습을 집중적으로 볼 수도 있습니다. 또한 한편으로는 그들에게 주어졌던 율법을 통해, 하나님께서 다스리시는 하나님 나라의 모습을 어렴풋이나마 엿볼 수 있겠습니다. 단순히 이스라엘에게 의무를 지우기 위함도 아니고, 그들이 하나의 사회를 이루기 위한 제도를 제공하기 위함을 넘어서, 하나님은 어떠한 분이신지를 보여주는 모형으로서의 하나님의 율법과 출애굽기를 묵상하는 시간이 되기를 소망합니다.

Exodus - An incarnated model of the Kingdom of God

​

The Kingdom of God is a central theme that runs through the beginning and end of the Bible. It encompasses every area of our lives where God's reign is realized. When God created the world, it was imbued with the perfect principles of His Kingdom. However, due to our sin, we can no longer fully see those principles at work in our daily lives. Yet, through the book of Revelation, God vividly shows how He will restore those principles. Until then, God desires that we live according to the principles of His Kingdom here on earth.

However, we inherently face limitations in fully understanding and living out the principles of God's Kingdom in this world. That is why God revealed a model of His Kingdom to us through the Law given to Israel, and through the life and words of Jesus Christ.

Through the book of Exodus, we can focus on the Israelites who went through the exodus and their time in the wilderness, as well as on Moses who led them through that journey. At the same time, through the Law given to them, we can catch a glimpse of what the Kingdom of God—ruled by God—looks like. It is not merely about imposing obligations on Israel or providing social systems for them. Rather, the Law and the book of Exodus serve as models to show us who God is. It is my hope that this will be a time to reflect on these as we meditate on God's character and His Kingdom.
